ABOUT SUDHAKSHINA MUKHERJEE

Sudakshina Mukherjee is the artistic director of Atlanta Nritya Academy. She has been learning Bharatnatyam from the age of 3, with the learning mostly being in Kolkata from Guru Keka Chatterjee, Guru Abhay Pal, Guru Kohinoor Sen Barat and later from Guru Uma Tilak in Pune. She has been trained under the Pandanallur and Kalakshetra style of Bharatnatyam and also in several other dance forms including Contemporary, Bollywood, Folk, Creative, and Rabindra Nritya. Her choreography has won many accolades throughout India as well as in the US such as leading her team to semi-finals in both seasons of Dance USA Dance; she even got awarded the Best Choreography award in the whole Dance USA Dance competition. Her school also won the adult and kids first prize in the Dance Fever competition, which was judged by Geeta Kapoor who even gave them a standing ovation. Above all, she believes that dance should be fun for all and accessible to all, and works to spread that message through her work
